This is my "nory" after her oxygen was taken off. Even though she had her lungs deep suctioned every couple hours, had an IV in her hand and nurses poking at her every two seconds she still wanted to smile! She is such a joy to have! i love my Nora! Thank you to all that prayed for her while she was in the hospital this last weekend!
All the stuff.
Alli also had pneumonia but found a good way to cure herself. Also, Alli is in a no clothes stage and I dont care as long as we are at home. While Alli was sick she lost two pounds and as you can see needs to eat more ice cream.

This is the side of the nursery that Nora is suppose to have but as you can see it is the castles spot. This castle was given to us and will soon end up on the street with a "take me please!!" sign on it.

Everywhere we go we have to take Jessie, bear , and baby. Sometimes just to get out of the house I have to pack the stroller for these members of our family!
This was a coat closet at one point but coats really dont happen in the Az so a toy room it is!

My little Nora has been smiling and talking up a storm for the last week. She is now five weeks old! Both my girls have had serious personalities very early. if anyone remembers Alli use to sing her little heart out at three months. Nora is not there yet but she will talk and grunt and smile as long as your talking to her.
Where did this dimple come from? I love it. It is so cute!!!!!!
Are these eyes gorgeous or what? And those lips. I just want to kiss them all day!!!

Phoenix zoo

Its hard to see but these orangutans were playing hide and seek under this sheet. I thought the zoo was suppose to be a replica of their habitat. I guess I did not know they had linens in the wild. Oh! I almost forgot; If anyone takes their little ones to the zoo the small monkeys are NAUGHTY!!!! I was holding Alli and two tiny monkeys were within arms distance looking at us when all of a sudden the one decided to get crazy! My friend Liz and I started laughing and I just told Alli the one was giving the other a piggy back ride! Why couldnt they just eat bugs out of each others hair or something???
All Alli had to say about this was "hmmm neck". That about summed up her excitement for these guys.
My husband is always telling me that flamingos are pink because they eat so much shimp. I did not see anywhere for them to get shrimp and no one was serving shrimp cocktails. Anyone know the truth????? And where do they hide their other leg?
Alli wanted to climb all the fences to get a better look at the zebras she calls horses.
The zoo was totally fun. I have lived in Phx for ten years and have not been before. Its no San Diego zoo but with my lack of knowlege of wildlife Ill start here then move up.

Alli turned 2 on Feb. 2nd. I cant believe it!!!!!! She was soo happy and we all had so much fun. Usually its not that fun for the adults but I think we all had just as much fun.

Nora and Alli are so cute. This is what we have been up to, sleeping and playing in buckets. I have gotten down the routine to get out the door. It is so much harder with two. There is twice as much stuff to take and it never fails that one or both of them poop their pants right before we go!

My beautiful Nora louise Finnegan has arrived. She was born on New years eve at 7:33 pm. James and I couldnt be happier. And Alli surprising loves her to pieces.

I hope I didnt break santa's leg. This is the only way Alli would go near him. I only have two more weeks til D day. Im very excited to be done and have my two girls.

Im craving Jamba so that has become a treat for both Alli and I.

Alli adores her Katie. Kate has been helping me a lot with her while Im on the final two weeks til Nora! They dance, sing and chase each other. Whenever I say "Kate" she wigs and starts saying "Play" Play" Play".

Pre term labor

The reason i have not posted in a couple weeks is I have been dealing with Alli figuring out that a baby is coming and that her world is about to be different. I have finished my nursery and Alli is now in a big girl bed. She will stay there til 2-3 in the morning then she is pulling my hair at the side of the bed to get in with me. Also, I thought pre term labor would escape me this time but it seems both of my babies want out too early. I went to the hospital on monday night. I was having 3 contractions per 10 minutes. ouch! So they gave me two shots of trebutaline and sent me home 6 hours later. now i have to take it easy which Im not good at and take the trebutaline when contractions start. Ill try and keep up with blogging but when I am feeling good I have other things I need to do before my sweet babe comes.

So im 29 and wondering where its gone. Im about to have two kids and still feel 20-25 ish! Do I have to act grown up or can I stay silly and wild? Ive tried both but somehow babies make you grow up, start going to bed earlier and im worried about nap time and how many fruits and veggies Alli has eaten instead of where my next wild fun adventure may be. Hmmm, I guess Ill grow up like everybody else but I cant guarentee Ill act my age, its just not in me!

Update on our doings

We have been really busy the last two weeks since we have been home. We have not done anything to exciting just normal things like play play play and going with Jen to get hair cuts for the boys and Alli. It is so nice to have space to play and get back on a normal schedule.
Im feeling good these days. Im 22 weeks now and not to big but I know from last time that the last couple months can pack it on. Alli is aware that there is a baby but if you ask her if its a "sister" she says "ya" and if you ask her if its a "brother" she says "ya" so Im a little unaware of how much she really knows or understands.

Nana, Grandpa, Alli and I went to visit Jeff during the time we were in Moses Lake. Its very surreal to think he is gone. I do know, and take comfort, that he watches out for all of us that know and love him. I hope that through stories and taking Alli to the semetery that she will know her "uncle Jeffy".

The deck that James rebuilt did not get completly stained. It has been looking half done for a couple months now. So with nothing else to do I busted out the stain and brushes and went to town. It looks gorgeous finished and with all the flowers on it. Im pretty proud of myself, it was my first deck project!

Today was really fun! We took Alli to the water park and met the Reed boys. We all got a little burned in the Texas sun but enjoyed it none the less. After swimming we got the car washed, wet to the movies then went to the Reeds for dinner. The picture above is of Adrian and Alli. All of the boys love playing with Alli, and Im sure she doesnt mind all of the attention.

TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY OF SWIM LESSONS AND THE LAST. THE WATER WAS FREEZING AND ALLI WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TEACHER. WE CAME HOME AND SWAM IN OUR WARM POOL AND I TAUGHT HER A COUPLE OF THINGS. BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR!

Im sure a lot of you know the Piper deck was built 20 years ago for Julie and Steve's wedding. It has not had much help since. It has been the hiding place for many a spiders, skunks and stray cats. A few of the boards(ok a lot of them) have sunk in, and nails were sticking up all over the place. It was not a real safe for children to play or for anyone who weighs more than twenty pounds. So out came the pressure washer and new boards were put in place but not after a full day of removing rotten wood

So now that the deck is safe and looks gorgeous for all Mom's flowers, let the summer fun begin.

Alli and I I here in Washington and here are some updates:
1.Mom is doing really well after lapband surgery and has lost 10 pounds already!!
2. Alli has played everyday with her cousins shaelie and Carson and the other night with Mandys kids.
3.I have gotten to hang out with Steph, who I adore, but also Mandy who has been in town for the same week. We, growing up, use to play all the time. They only lived two miles from us. Mandy use to scare Steph and I so bad by playing horrible pranks on us. Looking back its funny but at time we were terrified!!
4. Alli loves to go farming with Grandpa Piper and ride around in his truck.
5.Nana gave Alli a ton of new clothes. I mean a ton! Awesome!!!!
6. Alli and I helped Nana plant her infamous flower pots. Alli took all the name tags out of the containers so who knows what they will look like when they bloom..??
7. We got to see Camery, Parker and nattie. nattie is so cute, getting so big, and has a kung fu grip. Oh! and she will be walking so early.....

These are just a few fun things. We have been around the house a lot to take care of our shrinking nana so stay tuned for more fun.....

I have been recieving some calls concerning the cozy coupe that we found "fair and square" at the dumpster. I think it is pretty clear from these pics that this is indead a dumpster and anything around it trash.

First hockey game

This is Paul, LeeAnne, Gracie, Alli and me.

While James was out of town last weekend our friends Paul and Donna invited Alli and I to a hockey game. It was tons of fun, and a little embarrassing. Alli was totally entertained for the first half then wanted to run around the second. So as to not annoy the fellow fans with the unruly child I took her to the top to let her run around and get a hot dog, cheetos and a coke. On the way up the stairs I had my head down watching her climb the stairs and block her from flying pucks. I was almost there when I heard a man say" You and your daughter have just won sweetheart of the game!" I looked up with a dumb face like who is talking to me? A camera man and the announcer guy were right in my face and handed me a dosen roses. This all sounds nice until I look behind me and my daughter and I's big mugs are on the big four sided tv that is in the middle of the ice.! Then he proceeds to ask me questions like "what is your name?" "Your daughters?" I dont know why but at the time the questions seemed so hard, I think I said my name was Alli and Alli's name JoAnne. I felt so stupid. At this time I picked up Alli and was trying to walk off, but when I picked her up the crowd went AHHHHH! ( she did look so cute that night.) I cant remember what he said next because as he stuck the microphone to my mouth Alli slapped it and my answer was jacked up from her smack. I snached up the roses and ran up the stairs.
Every time I see our friends now they make fun and call Alli and I "sweethearts". Ahhhh..

This was a super fun Saturday! I have not been sailing since I was a kid. James rented this boat on a really pretty lake in Southlake,Tx. We did not take Alli as to test the waters to make sure it was safe. We will take her next time because as you can see the conditions were not white squall.

GO KISS YOUR WASHER AND DRYER! Seriously! When in Texas Alli and I have been taking our laundry to this fine place. I never knew how much I love my washer and dryer in Phoenix. I miss them. I try to pretend like Im in a movie or in New York to try and make it a little more glam..... It works for a second until no celebrities come in or the coin machine doesn't work and every other store for a block has a sign that says " We do NOT have quarters for the laundromat!" This is when reality hits and Alli and I have to go five miles to a bank to get a roll of quarters.
As you can see my little princess wants out of here too.

This was a tramatic day for me. For those who dont know, I have made my mom, cousin Steph, and friends take her to her past shots so I could be the hero. Today I had to hold my princess down and let two nurses stab her in each leg! I could not sleep the night before. All of this led to her crying more because I was holding her and when the doctor checked her heart rate! She didnt even cry for the shots and fell asleep in the car right after. All of you moms that said that it is not that bad were right. I guess you guys do know something. hehe

Ive had a few people tell me I dont update fast enough! This blogging has become a lot of preasure! Well Our new adventures are swim lessons for Alli and lots of working out for JoAnne. I have not worked out for awhile so we joined a gym that is awesome. The indoor pool is perfect for Alli! Most of it is one to two feet deep so she enjoys running around. The first couple of times I took Alli to the play area so I could work out she did not last very long. At all!!!! The first time was 11 min. The next thirty. Then it has been hit and miss from there. Needless to say as soon as I drop her off I get on a machine and go as fast a I can. I probably look like a maniac, but I never know how much time I have.
James work is going good but even though we are here we still dont see him much except at night. Sometimes Alli is already in bed. It beats not seeing him for weeks though.
Last night we went to the pool and snuck in some friends. We had alot of fun and then went to their house for movie. They have two cute girls that Alli adores! It is fun to see our babies have friends.
Other than that Texas is great! Never thought I would say that but it is! The weather is insane. one minute it is sunny and Eighty the next snowing! Yes, Im serious!

This is our apartment in South lake Texas. South lake is right outside of Dallas. James works here quite a bit so the company is paying for an apartment when we are here. We still have our home in Phoenix but needed a place to stay instead of a hotel. Alli has been a huge trooper and is always happy. The people here are so so nice. It is almost freaky how nice. All of the apartment furnishings were donated by the great people here. We have not had to buy a thing! It is not exactly what I would pick but I am very grateful to not have to pay to furnish two homes. We will probably be in Texas for three weeks out of month for about a year. We went to our new ward yesterday and again EVERYONE was soooo nice. I told my mom Im going to have to take it up a few notches..hehe

Sorry these are late and that I have not responded to everyones comments. My 2008 has been extremely busy and I have not stopped. Alli had a great birthday with her family and few friends. By the end of the night she and everyone else was overwhelmed as seen in the picture of the kids. I have been thinking of everyone and hope all is well, especially my pregnant friends, Korbi and Bethany.

This park was so cute. It had a stage that Alli couldn't get enough of, a bunch of slides, an Alice in Wonderland grass maze, and water features. It was to cold for that but still awesome. The outdoor mall that this was at also has my new favorite store. It is called H&M. Kellie and Bart took us there and the next day when James was at work I went again! The night some of these were taken we went to dinner with my cousin Bart, his wife Kellie and their two boys, Jackson and Carter. Kellie and I went shopping. They are such fun people. And for the record everyone, Kellie is as funny as Bart if not more. Hehe And yes I know one of these is sideways! I still don't know how to fix it! So just bend your head!

Yes she is only one. My nephews gave us this slide and I thought that it would be months before she would figure it out. I was wrong. I left the room came back to her screaming and standing on the top of it. Once I taught her to go down she hasn't stopped ( not even when naked ). Between chasing her in church and this I cant leave her alone. Today I took her to the park to expel some of her energy and hopefully that will work.

This is the only picture that would upload. Alli and I had a fun day on the 2nd. She didnt do the typical shoving of the cake. She ate it with a fork! She has defiantly decided she is one! on Sunday I took her to church by myself where she proceeded to run the pulpit two times during sacrament, then twice during second hour. You may be asking why I didn't trap her? I tried and she climbed under the bench and ran away from me. I left half way through second hour. Oh, but that was not before my friend Tara grabbed a binky out of my hair that during the chasing was stuck to my ponytail. Who knows how long that was there!!!!!?????

One year ago my little groundhog peaked her head out and decided it was spring! This year however the groundhog said NO WAY! So six more weeks of winter. Sorry to all the Northwest and Utah family! As for Alli's day James was not here so next weekend will be the celebration. I hope this does not leave long term scars. I felt bad and got her a cupcake for after dinner so Ill show those pictures a bit later. Stay tuned...........

My mom is in town and wanted to go shopping! Not wanting to pass this up we had to take my sister Jen's twin boys!! This meant three car seats, three kids that mess their pants, three sippy cups, and three mess makers. All in all they were all angels and we did actually get to shop! Luke sang songs to "Baby Adi" and Daniel slept!

Oh and I forgot the part where i ran my dads truck into a ditch and in the same night had to call poison control because Alli ate some berries off one of my moms ferns. Luckily both events turned out ok. She didnt get sick and my uncle Lamar towed us out of the ditch! Good times!!!

Crazy two weeks

I dont have the pictures from this last two weeks. However, stay tuned because they are a plenty.
James, Alli, and I have been on the constant move since the New Year. James grandmother passed away in Anaconda Montana. We flew there where we were met by most of his family. It was a beautiful service. James sister and her kids were there so we ended up staying for a whole week and playing with them.
From Montana James headed to Dallas for work and Alli and I went to Nana and Grampys for so r&r. Lots happened in Moses Lake! Nana fell on the ice and was taken to the hospital. Luckily no stitches were needed! The next day half of Nanas tooth came off and my dad ran into a metal catwalk with his face and was all bloody!!! They were not doing so well. And on top of all this I had to sleep sitting up with Alli because she was sick!!! Her being sick is not something Im use to, she has been soooo health thus far! Thank goodness!
From there we flew home to Phoenix with my parents to help Jen, Larry and family move into their new beautiful home! It has taken three years to finish and they are soo excited to move. Their other home got to small real fast as soon as the twins were born.
As for Alli and I today we are hanging out in our own home with our own toys and own beds. We have been away for over two weeks and I just want to chill. Alli is still in her diaper and I in my pjs. There is nothing like your own home and own stuff. Being away makes me very grateful.
Next up on our list is miss Alli Grace b-day!!!!! She got so many toys for Christmas that Im not sure what to get her. Im sure Ill find something! Stay tuned for pics of cake all over her!!!!

I was just sitting here looking at pictures and saw these and started to wonder where my baby went! Everyone told me that time flies but I thought they were all crazy. Alli has been the most amazing baby! She has barely cried, slept through the night since two months and is such a smart funny girl. She makes me laugh everyday! The reason behind these comments is she is almost one. She will be on Feb 2nd! I cant believe it! This has been the best year of my life!! Thanks Alli!!

4.The Cowboy Christmas convention. Bart and Kelly invited us. My biggest wish for this was an Elephant ear; They did not have them. However, James and I registered to win a horse carrier!!! We could sure use one!!
5.Bart and Kelly live there! They are sooo fun.
6.You dont have to pay anything to see a great show from Jackson using Kelly's furniture as a prop. The finale is the falling of the angel from the top of the tree!! Its awesome!!
7.Bart and Kelly will take you to a mall that doesnt have any water, bathrooms or food!!
8.On every corner they hand out free trading cards.
9.Vegas makes you grateful for your normal life!
10.Shopping! They have great stores!
